Employment Situation Summary
“Nonfarm payroll employment rose by 120,000 in March, and the unemployment rate was little changed at 8.2 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment rose in manufacturing, food services and drinking places, and health care, but was down in retail trade.”

“Today, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is making available the Draft Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) and Environmental Assessment (EA) for Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge Complex and opening a 45-day public review and comment period. The Service will hold a series of public meetings April 17-19, 2012 at various locations in Montana to solicit input on the draft plan for the Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge Complex.”

The Forest Service will begin implementing the final planning rule 30 days following the publication of the rule in the Federal Register.”


Missoulian: Housing market looking brighter in Missoula

“Sales of new single-family houses in February 2012 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 313,000, according to estimates released jointly today by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is 1.6 percent (±23.9%)* below the revised January rate of 318,000, but is 11.4 percent (±17.8%)* above the February 2011 estimate of 281,000.”
