H.R.1628 - American Health Care Act of 2017
“This bill amends the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to eliminate funding after FY2018 for the Prevention and Public Health Fund, which provides for investment in prevention and public health programs to improve health and restrain the rate of growth in health care costs. Funds that are unobligated at the end of FY2018 are rescinded.”

Health Care Bill, Airline Travel



“Following the forcible removal of an airline passenger on April 9, 2017, Sens. John Thune (R-S.D.) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla.), who serve respectively as the chairman and ranking member of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation along with Blunt and the subcommittee ranking member, Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), sent letters of inquiry to United Airlines and the Chicago Department of Aviation, which operates O’Hare International Airport, on April 11. The committee received responses on April 26. United Airlines announced policy changes on April 27 developed in the aftermath of the incident designed to avoid such incidents in the future.”

“Sallyport Global Holdings Inc., Alexandria, Virginia, has been awarded a $271,813,941 modification (P00013) to exercise the option on previously awarded contract FA8615-14-C-6020 for base life support, base operations support, and security for Balad Air Base, Iraq. Work will be performed at Balad Air Base, Iraq, and is expected to be complete by Jan. 31, 2017. This contract is 100 percent foreign military sales to Iraq. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.”

U.S. Budget, Airline Seating



“Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Transportation shall issue a final rule to revise part 250 of title 14, Code of Federal Regulations, to prohibit an air carrier from denying air transportation to a passenger on an oversold aircraft that the passenger has physically boarded based on the status of the passenger with respect to the priority rules and criteria of the carrier for determining which passengers holding confirmed reserved space shall be denied boarding in the event that an insufficient number of volunteers come forward.”
