Water Rights Compact

“This is the proposed Water Rights Compact that could be a critical component of a comprehensive water rights settlement among the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes, the State of Montana, and the United States—also referred to in this proposed Compact as the Parties. As with any negotiation of a complex settlement of litigation and other issues, nothing in this document is agreed to until everything is agreed to by the three Parties, which will only occur (if at all) after the opportunity for public review and comment.”

Fiscal Cliff / Chinese Solar Panels

“Policymakers are facing difficult trade-offs in formulating the nation’s fiscal policies. On the one hand, if the fiscal policies currently in place are continued in coming years, the revenues collected by the federal government will fall far short of federal spending, putting the budget on an unsustainable path. On the other hand, immediate spending cuts or tax increases would represent an added drag on the weak economic expansion.”- CBO

“The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) today determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells and modules from China that the U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) has determined are subsidized and sold in the United States at less than fair value.”
